Willoughby way residence, aspen co
Nestled into the mountain-side, this Aspen retreat utilizes BH wide plank French Oak to anchor the open-concept plan with a sense of warmth and grounded elegance. The choice of wood harmonizes with the home’s earthy palette, complementing stone, plaster, and timber details while creating a seamless flow across all the living spaces.

The Project
Patina and texture were important to the design team, which naturally guided the conversation to our signature Shrunk Face French Oak in a 10.5" wide format. The boards feature tasteful knot movement and grain variation, enhanced with a oil finish that balances natural beauty with refined texture.
Mountain environements are characteristic of dry winters, so the veneer and plywood core were dried down to minmize dry checks and board gapping. The residence is tied together with our custom built and stain-matched, floating stair treads.
